What we collect
Account details you provide (name, email, password hash), the brands, competitors, and prompts you configure, and billing details processed by Stripe (we never store card numbers). We also store the AI answers our systems retrieve on your behalf and the metrics derived from them.
How we use it
To run the service: querying AI engines with your prompts, analyzing the answers, and showing you the results. We don't sell your data, and we don't use your workspace data to train models.
Third parties
Prompt text is sent to the AI engines on your plan (OpenAI, Anthropic, Perplexity, Google) via their official APIs, and to a licensed SERP data provider for Google AI Overviews. Payments are processed by Stripe; transactional email by Resend; hosting by Vercel and Supabase; and product analytics by PostHog.
Product analytics
We use PostHog to understand traffic sources, conversion steps, and product usage. Form inputs are masked in session recordings, customer-entered prompts and AI answers are excluded, and authenticated workspace pages are not recorded. We associate a random internal account identifier—not your email—with product events after sign-in. Browser Do Not Track preferences are respected.
Retention & deletion
Answer history is retained per your plan's history window. Deleting your account removes your organization's data. Email support@answerstanding.com for deletion or export requests.
AI referral attribution tag
Customers may optionally install an AnswerStanding tag on a website they control. The tag records recognized AI referral sources, the landing-page path without query strings, an anonymous per-tab session identifier, and conversion names or values the customer explicitly configures. AnswerStanding does not store IP addresses, user agents, names, emails, form contents, or persistent visitor profiles in attribution event records. The tag respects browser Do Not Track settings. Customers are responsible for loading it through their consent manager where applicable. Disconnecting the site deletes its attribution events.
Free instant check
The unauthenticated brand check stores the brand name you enter and the retrieved answers for 30 days so we can render the shareable result page; results are not public unless you share the link. We retain a one-way hash of the visitor's network address to enforce the one-free-check limit; we do not store the raw address in the free-check record.
